It was an intense 24 hours as a fire burned over 20 acres in Dry Fork Canyon this weekend putting multiple homes and structures in danger. The Dry Fork Settlement Fire was called in on Friday afternoon and resulted in a temporary evacuation of Red Cloud Loop and Settlement Road.

Community Concerns Expressed at Uintah School District Budget Hearing
Community members attended the Uintah School District budget hearing on Wednesday, May 30th, at the Vernal Middle School Auditorium to share their concerns about spending and the budget. On May 9th, the school board unanimously approved a $6 million dollar joint capital project to update the high school auditorium as well as add turf to certain athletic fields.

Wind Fueling Dry Fork Settlement Fire Friday Afternoon
Wind is fueling another fire in Dry Fork Canyon that started Friday afternoon. According to BLM representative Kelsey Birchell, the Dry Fork Settlement Fire is 60 acres and the cause is unknown.
