On May 1st, the Environmental Protection Agency announced areas of nonattainment for ozone pollution including parts of the Uintah Basin in Duchesne and Uintah County. Director of the USU Bingham Research Center Seth Lyman explains that “the designation made was Marginal which is the lowest and least onerous of the possible nonattainment classifications.

Beekeeping Class at Library for All Experience Levels
Beekeeping has become a growing hobby for many Uintah Basin residents and there is a great resource at the library for all experience levels. Bee hobbyist Justin Mills heads up a beekeeping club, the Uintah Beekeepers, that meet the first Tuesday of every month at the Uintah County Library.
Deterioration at Red Fleet State Park Dinosaur Track Site Due to Human Impact
Red Fleet State Park has identified a growing issue and is asking for the public’s help. According to the Red Fleet announcement, the dinosaur track site is deteriorating due to individuals throwing rocks, many containing dinosaur tracks, into the water over the past 6 months.
Delays Expected in Indian Canyon During UDOT Resurfacing
Drivers can expect delays when traveling through Indian Canyon. UDOT began a resurfacing project of an 11-mile section of U.S. 191 on Monday, April 30th. The work has begun at the junction of U.S. 6 and 191 and will run to Jones Hollow at approximately milepost 271.
