A bill passed in the 2018 state legislative session is of particular interest to local municipalities. Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion offered a legislative recap to the city council during their meeting last Wednesday and made note of the Homelessness Bill that passed.

Woman Injured in ATV Crash in Sweetwater County

A Sweetwater County woman was seriously injured on Saturday in an ATV crash in the area west of Green River. According to Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell, a deputy and her K9 were dispatched in the afternoon to the Telephone Canyon area on a report of an all-terrain vehicle mishap.

Vandals Joyride on Dinaland Golf Course; Damage Estimated at $10,000

Dinaland Golf Course Superintendent Chad Shafer was met with quite a sight on Friday morning due to the handiwork of what appears to be several vandals. Sometime late Thursday night/early Friday morning vandals chose the golf course as the target for their fun. According to Shafer, carts were used to joyride around the golf course causing damage, knocking signs and posts out of the ground, driving donuts on the greens, tearing up grass and eventually driving the carts into the ponds, fully submerging them.

The BIA announced Monday morning before 8:00am that Bradley James Moore is still not in custody and that all reports have been exhausted after an almost 30 hour extensive search. The BIA and FBI announced Sunday around noon that they were working an active shooting incident in the Fort Duchesne area with Moore as the suspect who was considered “armed and dangerous.”
