Duchesne County to Host Uinta Basin Hydrocarbon Conference
Duchesne City will welcome industry leaders for a premiere energy event next week. The Uinta Basin Hydrocarbon Conference will be held at the Centennial Event Center, covering policy, innovation and regulatory matters, the future of horizontal drilling, energy innovation, and local markets, infrastructure and processing. “We are so thrilled to be hosting this conference in Duchesne City at the Centennial Event Center,” shares Duchesne County Economic Development Director Irene Hansen.

A residential fire in Rock Springs unveiled a long list of criminal activity within. According to the Rock Springs Police Department, law agencies responded to the call of the house fire last Wednesday at approximately 10:05am. With the help of 3 fire trucks and 11 fire department employees, the fire was extinguished within 7 minutes.
Sterling Scholar Region Winner Highlight: Heidi Daniel
Uintah High School represented very well at competition this month with three Uintah seniors being named Sterling Scholars for the Northeast Region. Heidi Daniel, daughter of Bruce and Shelly Daniel, was named the Region General Sterling Scholar. Heidi is or has been involved in cross country, track, mountain biking, DECA, FBLA, National Honor Society, and Uintah High Theatre.
Ute Hockey Raising Funds To Boost Coaching Staff
It’s amazing how far volunteer coaching has taken hockey in the Vernal area but the effort is now focused on raising funds for a paid coach. The Uintah Ute hockey team is holding a fundraiser raffle for a 6.5 Creedmor Rifle with a drawing to be held May 1st. Coach Ian Soldano has an impressive background playing and coaching hockey and he has built a relationship with many of the players.

UDOT Announces Uintah Basin Projects for 2018; Highway 40 Passing Lanes
The Utah Department of Transportation announced their construction projects on Monday for 2018. According to their press release, the projects will widen Highway 40 in two locations and repave areas of other local highways. The addition of passing lanes to Highway 40 is the largest of the projects listed.
