A Uintah County man is facing felony burglary charges for an incident that took place on Christmas Eve. 36-year-old Lorenzo M. Florez is charged with misdemeanor charges of Criminal Mischief, Criminal Trespass, and Impersonation of an Officer, as well as 3rd Degree Felony Attempted Burglary.

The Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce gave their annual report during the Uintah County Commission meeting on Monday. The Chamber estimates their total value to the community is over $504,000 dollars.

Uintah County Woman Arrested on Drug and Distribution Charges
A Uintah County woman is facing drug and distribution charges after an incident in which police responded to a call to the Vernal McDonalds parking lot. 51-year-old Gertrude Marie Holland has been charged with one count of driving with a controlled substance in the body, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to deliver.

Nighttime caving proved to be a dangerous pursuit for a group of adventurers who went climbing inside the Little Brushcreek cave system in north Uintah County on Sunday evening. According to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, a 24-year-old California man was seriously injured when he fell approximately 50 feet while exploring the caves.
Breaking: Fatal Accident on Highway 40 in Vernal
A fatal two vehicle accident in Vernal at about 850 West Highway 40 shut down both directions of traffic as emergency personnel handled the scene. The crash took place Monday evening. Law enforcement has confirmed there is at least one fatality.
