Uintah County Commission Adopts 2018 Budget

The Uintah County Commission adopted the 2018 budget for Uintah County during their Monday meeting. Clerk/Auditor Mike Wilkins made the presentation of the 2018 budget which totalled $78,862,600 dollars, a reduction from the 2017 budget by nearly $2.3 million dollars.

Uintah County Toddler Killed in Accidental Shooting

A Uintah County toddler was fatally shot inside her home in Uintah County on Sunday. According to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Uintah Basin Medical Center on December 10th on a report that a child had been shot.

Another Great Year for Breakfast With Santa in Vernal

It was another successful year for the annual Breakfast With Santa event in Vernal on Saturday. The event first started 16 years ago and serves as a thank you to the community from Vernal City and the Uintah Recreation District. The first 3 years were held at the Elks Club with live entertainment, door prize drawings and about 300 people attending.

New Child Rape Charge for Duchesne County Man Suspected of Faking Own Death

A Duchesne County man charged with raping a child and suspected of faking his own death after being charged is facing an additional charge of Rape of a Child. The latest first degree felony charge was filed on November 9th against 37-year-old Ted Lee Whitehead and lists the offense as having taken place between October 1st and November 30th of 2012 in Uintah County.

Semi Driver Facing Automobile Homicide Charge in Fatal Crash

The driver of the semi involved in a crash that killed a Duchesne County man and paralyzed a Salt Lake County woman last spring is now facing a charge of automobile homicide. On December 1st, 37-year-old Nathaniel Bone was charged with 2nd degree felony Automobile Homicide, Negligence Use of a Handheld Wireless Device and Misdemeanor Use of a Handheld Device While Driving.

Representative Bishop Launches Congressional Website

While it can be difficult to stay in touch with the happenings in Washington, D.C. Representative Rob Bishop is making it much easier. Bishop represents District 1 in Utah which include northeastern Utah and he has a history of trying to connect his constituents with national happenings and their local relevance.
