Vernal City Budget Status and Outlook

Vernal City Finance Director Mike Davis made a presentation this month to the Vernal City Council on the current budget status and outlook. According to Davis, the general fund for Vernal City is approximately $9 million dollars and the utility fund is approximately $5 million dollars.

A winter ozone alert system for the Uintah Basin may be aimed at keeping the oil and gas industry informed but can also have a broader reach. Director of the USU Bingham Research Center Seth Lyman explains that the alert system was designed to inform the oil and gas industry if there is poor air quality in order to make adjustments, but that all community members are welcome to sign up.

Holiday Performers Brighten Vernal Chamber Luncheon

Two holiday performances spread Christmas cheer during Tuesday’s Vernal Chamber luncheon. A group of performers sang the song Homeless from Vernal Theatre: LIVE’s production of The Forgotten Carols, which opened Tuesday night and runs through Saturday.
