Uintah County Election Results

Preliminary election results are in. Uintah County had a 38.46 percent voter turnout with 5,105 ballots cast out of 13,273 registered voters. Proposition 5 failed in Uintah County with 41.15 percent voting FOR the transportation tax to 58.85 percent voting AGAINST it.

The TriCounty WIC program has coordinated with local businesses to help provide diapers for local infants and young children this holiday season.

Naples Elementary is hoping for a repeat win of a regional contest that awards one school with some big bucks and resources. Schools across the nation celebrate Red Ribbon Week in the fall of every school year to teach youth to live drug free. The National Red Ribbon Week organization awards schools for making it a big affair and Naples Elementary is among select schools in Region 8 with a photo in the contest.

One of Roosevelt’s most successful events of the year is all about kicking off the holiday season right! The annual Holly Fair was held in 6 amazing locations throughout Roosevelt over the weekend with record crowds, shares Duchesne County Chamber Director Irene Hansen. In addition to the Holly Fair locations, Dr. Ogden hosted Santa for pictures and wagon rides at his office to add to the festivities.

Local Business Awarded at 43rd Golden Key Awards

A local business was one of only four businesses in the state to be awarded at the 43rd annual Golden Key Awards held in October. Liquid Nutra Group, located in Naples,  won the Small Employer of the Year award for making it a priority to hire individuals with disabilities and help them build autonomy and develop skills.

Commissioner Recommendation Following Audit of Transportation District

An audit of the Uintah Transportation Special Service District released last week and performed by the Office of the State Auditor presented multiple findings and recommendations for the transportation board and Uintah County to consider. One Uintah County Commissioner has responded to the finding in the audit that states there is potential inadequate independence between the Transportation District and Uintah County.
