Delays Through Myton Bench Construction

Delays can be expected as work continues on the Myton Bench construction project. UDOT reports that crews are scheduled to begin microsurfacing the road starting as early as Tuesday, October 10th. 

Team Uintah Recognizes the Davis Family of Davis Jubilee

The family behind Davis Food & Drug is well known throughout the Uintah Basin and has been serving the local community since the store’s launch in the 80’s. The store’s founders, Jim and Debbie Davis, along with CJ and Lee Davis who joined the store leadership team in 2009, have especially been great supporters of local schools so it’s no surprise they are the next to be recognized by Team Uintah.

Ute Tribe High School Students Visit USU Logan Campus

Higher education is emphasized in high schools throughout the Basin and one lucky group of students recently enjoyed a college campus tour in Logan. Thirty Ute Tribe members who are high school students from Union and Uintah River high schools traveled to the Utah State University Logan campus for a two day introduction to the college experience.

Rangely Man Missing Since September 29th

The public’s help is being sought as authorities try to find a missing Rangely man. According to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office, 66-year-old Peter Christian Ruffner has not been seen since Friday, September 29th. 

Governors Collaborate on REV West Plan

Governor Gary Herbert joined the governors from Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico and Wyoming on Wednesday to sign a memorandum of understanding that’s all about promoting a plan for electric vehicles in the west. 

BLM Announces Tom Patterson Prescribed Fire

The Bureau of Land Management announced this week that the Vernal Field Office will be implementing the Tom Patterson Prescribed Fire in Uintah County in October. This project is a multi-year treatment to promote grass and brush habitat in the southern part of the county within the Bookcliffs along the McCook Ridge Road. 

Roosevelt State Street Closed at 800 South

Construction continues on the Roosevelt City State Street and maintenance project. The intersection of State Street and 800 South is closed through Saturday afternoon. Traffic will need to use alternate routes to access homes during this time. Last week, crews were flushing streets that have been chipped throughout the city.
