2017 Utah Tourism Conference Held in Uintah County Kicks Off

The 2017 Utah Tourism Conference sponsored by the Utah Office of Tourism kicked off in Vernal on Tuesday. The event runs through Thursday and while it’s primarily being held at the Uintah Conference Center, there will be no shortage of sightseeing and recreating by the conference attendees.

Uintah High School student, seventeen-year-old Spencer Day, has many talents and hobbies, writing just happens to be one of them. Years of creative work and drafting culminated on Saturday during the book launch party at the Uintah County Library of his new book Power of the Swords.

The Utah Safety Council has awarded a local construction company based on their excellent safety record. Burdick Materials received the Award of Merit for outstanding safety performance ranked off of their OSHA three year incident report. 

Department of Interior Limits NEPA Processes to a Year; 150 Pages

The Department of the Interior has announced new restrictions to streamline the National Environmental Protection Act or NEPA(Nee-Puh) process. According to an E&E News report, the Interior Department has directed that Environmental Impact Statements “shall not be more than 150 pages or 300 pages for unusually complex projects.”
