Trails Committee Making Progress

The development of a master plan by the Trails Committee in Uintah County is moving along. Trails Committee representatives gave a progress report during the Vernal City Council meeting, stating that public meetings have been held to receive input and decide what makes sense with the local government’s general plans.

Bridges to be Replaced on Forest Service Roads in Vernal Area

Bridges that provide access to East Park Campground and the Paradise Guard Station are scheduled to be replaced for the sake of public safety. According to the Ashley National Forest, the East Park and Paradise bridges are each over 50 years old and no longer meet the standards required. They also do not allow for the free passage of water under the roads. For the duration of the projects, Forest Service Road 22, also known as East Park Campground Road, and Forest Service Road 104, also known as Mosby Mountain Road, will be closed. The East Park Campground bridge replacement is scheduled forSeptember 11th through the 16th.Walk in access to East Park Reservoir will still be available. Replacement of the Paradise Guard Station bridge will runfrom September 18th through the 23rdand no traffic will be allowed past the turnoff into Paradise Campground. Nearly 8 miles of Mosby Mountain Road will be closed during this project thus cutting access to other Forest Service Roads.

By now everyone knows…

By now everyone knows that the Utah Symphony is coming to town but what some may not understand is that everyone can take part whether or not you have tickets to Saturday’s concert. On Friday night, September 1st, the symphony’s string quartet will be performing at the Vernal Brewing Company at 7:30pm.
