A Rock Springs man is going to trial over a range of domestic violence offenses. According to the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Allen James Hendrickson was arrested on June 2nd on a warrant charging him with Strangulation of a Household Member, two counts of Domestic Battery, two counts of False Imprisonment, and Unlawful Contact Without Bodily Injury.

Dead Dog Fire Slowly Gaining Containment; Hunter Fire Contained
The Dead Dog Fire in western Colorado is slowly gaining containment. An update on Thursday reports that the fire is 60 percent contained and remains at 17,731 acres in size. 88.4 percent of the Dead Dog Fire is on BLM lands, 7.2 percent is on private lands in Rio Blanco County, 3.2 percent is on state lands, and 1.2 percent is on private lands in Moffat County.
Double Shooting Victims Remain in Serious Condition
The victims in a double shooting on June 8th remain in serious condition, one of which is waiting for reconstructive surgery. Details from the shooting are available in court documents that indicate when deputies arrived on the scene the shooter, Jayson Dean, was laying face down in the roadway surrounded by people who came to assist after hearing shots fired.
Agreement Reached on Airport Bill
An agreement has been reached on a bill from 2016 associated with the Vernal Airport project. Last summer the FAA put a temporary halt on the airport runway project when it was learned that wetland mitigation requirements were not fully complete.
Sheriff Norton Update on 3 Missing Men
The search for three missing Vernal men continues with law enforcement pursuing all leads and angles. 29-year-old Jacob Douglas Tilt, 33-year-old Robert Alan Spoon, and 33-year-old Jason Ralph Tilt were reported missing on Friday, May 26th after having last been seen Monday evening, May 22nd.

The Dead Dog Fire in western Colorado is estimated at over 17,700 acres as of Wednesday morning and is 10 percent contained. On Tuesday, the fire was most active on the eastern portion with air resources working to assist ground crews to limit growth and were effective at protecting critical infrastructure.
