At least one Uintah High School teacher has a serious sense of humor and delivered a heavy dose of it for the UHS prom on Saturday. Rachelle Durrant is a favorite English teacher at Uintah High who showed students how to do a prom date right.

Basin’s Own Virtual Women’s Business Center Launch

Investigators believe a fire was started by a cigarette on Sunday in Craig. Firefighters responded to a call of a structure fire on Tucker Street after 11:00pm and found an apartment complex on fire.

Snotel Report; Roads, Bridge, Creeks Discussed at Commission Meeting
The latest snotel report shows that water levels vary greatly in areas of the Uintah Basin. In the Northeastern Uintas, water levels are listed as 110% of average. Sites on the Duchesne River, however, show that on the whole their average is 166% of average.
UBATC Recruitment Efforts on Basin High School Graduates
Statistics of Basin high school graduates going on to attend college look pretty bleak, a fact taken seriously by UBATC leadership. Just 29 percent of high school graduates in the Uintah Basin go on to attend college within a year after high school graduation.
Kevin Van Tassell to replace Shepherd on UTSSD
Another seat on the Uintah Transportation Special Service District board has been filled. On Monday, the Uintah County Commission approved Senator Kevin Van Tassell to the board to replace Chairman Duane Shepherd who was selected last month to replace Mike McKee on the Uintah County Commission.
